Santa Maria Beans
- 4 stripes thick cut, peppered bacon
- 2 cans pinto beans, rinsed
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped1/4 white onion, chopped
- 4 – 6 oz tomato sauce from a can
- 1 Tbls mined garlic
- 1/2 Tbls cumin
- 1/2 Tbls chili powder
- Chop up bacon and begin cooking in cast iron skillet.
- Once the bacon begins to brown, add in onion and bell pepper. Sauté for a few minutes.
- Add the beans, garlic, tomato sauce and seasonings to pan.
- Let simmer for 10 minutes.
