Santa Maria Beans

  • 4 stripes thick cut, peppered bacon
  • 2 cans pinto beans, rinsed
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped1/4 white onion, chopped
  • 4 – 6 oz tomato sauce from a can
  • 1 Tbls mined garlic
  • 1/2 Tbls cumin
  • 1/2 Tbls chili powder
  1. Chop up bacon and begin cooking in cast iron skillet.
  2. Once the bacon begins to brown, add in onion and bell pepper. Sauté for a few minutes.
  3. Add the beans, garlic, tomato sauce and seasonings to pan.
  4. Let simmer for 10 minutes.
